The assignment was to take a drawing of an object such as a cup, vase, tree, ect. and divide it into four section and make each a different way. Of course, to my teacher's dismay, I had to be different, so I drew my favorite animal: The Giant Squid.
---
The first section (bottom right) was to be made of one color and black.I was a little shaky painting this section because I don't paint that often and was too focused on getting everything right. When I finished, however, I was a little relieved and had more confindence to paint the rest.
The second (bottom left) We had to use a mix two or more of either warm colors (red, yellow, and orange) or cool colors (green, blue and purple).
I spent the most time on this one, and I think it came out the best.
I chose green and blue, which gave it a nice turqoise color.
The third (top right) Was to be made up of two opposite colors. Red and green, yellow and purple, or orange and blue. Obviously I chose yellow and purple. This one was hard because when two opposite colors mix, they become brown. So, I had to wait for it to dry to add another color. It turned out a little sloppy and I personally don't think it turned out very well.
The fourth (top left) was a free-for-all. I went crazy with colors. It was by far the most fun out of all the segments to work on, even though I had to quickly finish this one. Damn timelines.
---
I had to scan it in segments because of the size
and being the idiot I am, cropped each segment a different size, so it's a little uneven.
Got some unscannable artwork? Own a camera but no scanner? Here's a guide of things to consider in order to effectively take quality photographs of your work. [A tutorial by `fox-orian]

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
